Suffolk County Council is the
largest local employer in Suffolk. We are doing a lot to
support people into jobs. This includes:
• Work experience for people who want to find
out what the world of work is about.
• Guidance and work trials for people who have
been out of work for a long time or are
disadvantaged in getting jobs.
• Apprenticeships and graduate trainee programmes
where, as an employee, you can earn as you learn
and you gain practical skills from the workplace.
• Internships for people on courses who want to
build up work experience, contacts and their CV.
We work closely with other organisations to offer this support.
They include Jobcentre Plus, Future Jobs Fund, National
Apprenticeship Service and many local public services, private
businesses and voluntary organisations. This work is mostly
organised under two partnerships: Backing Young Suffolk and the
Local Employment Partnership.
It may be difficult to work out how our support can work for
you. We have created the Job Journey which we hope will help
you in that. To start your journey, click on one of the links
