These are exciting times as Lowestoft is now the first
Household Waste Recycling Centre in Suffolk to be made in to a
split level site. This is a panoramic view of how the site looked
whilst work was being carried out.

And this is how it looks now...

What does split level mean?
The public now drive up into the building, and
drop their recycling through screens into the collecting bays
below. Please remember to sort your recycling before you
arrive to make it quicker and easier for everyone who uses the
site.
What does this mean for me?
Easier recycling! No more steps to negotiate (as
at the old site at Wildes Street) - just 3 easy steps for your
recycling - drive in, drop off , drive out! Simple. There is a
new vehicular access from Hadenham Road and you now go in one side
of the building and exit via another. This keeps a good
flow of traffic and minimises any queuing times. The bays are
clearly marked with signs to show you which material should go in
to which bay and there are advisors on hand if you aren't sure
where something should go.

Sounds exciting! - When did this all happen?
The project started on 5th November 2007 and the new
facility opened on the 12th March 2008.

King of Recycling
We commissioned local sculptor Paul Richardson to create this
champion of recycling using recycled metal to greet you and send
you on your way. The King of Recycling is becoming a
real figurehead for Lowestoft.
