Rights Of Way Improvement Plan - Assessment report

Have your say about access to the countryside

Suffolk has a network of over 3,000 miles of footpaths, bridleways and byways*. This network can be used by everyone to visit the countryside, get to and from work, school and for a wide range of recreational purposes.

The Government has asked all county councils to produce a Rights of Way Improvement Plan. This ten-year plan will play a central role in how we improve our footpaths, bridleways and byways in the future. As part of this process the assessment report for the plan is now complete.

Although the consultation period is over we are still interested in your comments.

* Footpaths may be used only by people on foot. Bridleways may be used for walking, riding or leading a horse or pedal cycling. Cyclists must give way to pedestrians and riders. Byways open to all traffic may be used by vehicular and other kinds of traffic, where suitable but are used by the public mainly for walking or riding horses or cycles.
