Suffolk's environment is one of
the finest in Britain. Suffolk is making an important contribution
to tackling global environmental issues, and we must do more. The
Suffolk Strategic
Partnership is committed to making this ambition a reality
through the 'Suffolk, Creating the Greenest County' priority of the
Community Strategy - 'Transforming Suffolk'. Under this priority
Suffolk wants to:
- be an exemplar in tackling climate change and protecting and
enhancing its natural and historic environment.
- reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 60% by 2025.
Suffolk County Council (SCC) is proud to support the Creating
the Greenest County priority. To demonstrate its commitment to the
priority, SCC has launched its first
Environment Action Plan (PDF, 637Kb) in 2007, which detailed
the council's environmental performance and plans for its
improvement across eight key themes.
A
Monitoring Report of the first Environment Action Plan has now
been produced. SCC is now in the process of revising its
Environment Action Plan to be published later this year.
