Responding to climate change for businesses is a huge
opportunity, as well as a challenge. More and more surveys indicate
that a company’s approach to social and environmental issues
affects their brand values, consumer base, recruitment, retention
of committed staff, and profits.
There are many simple steps that a business can take to tackle
environmental issues such as energy use and waste management.
CRed Suffolk, the Suffolk Climate Change Partnership, has
recently developed the
‘What
can I do – Business’ section of the Greenest County website to
provide a one-stop-shop to help Suffolk’s businesses address
environmental issues.
The website includes information and advice on:
- Energy
- Environmental Management Systems
- Purchasing
- Sustainable Construction
- Sustainable Transport
- Waste
- Water
It also includes:
- Case studies of Suffolk businesses who have addressed
environmental issues;
- Forthcoming environmental business events;
- Information on free environmental support services available to
Suffolk businesses;
- News on environmental issues including the consultation on the
draft Suffolk Climate Action Plan.
Visit the Greenest County website
‘What
can I do – Business’ section to find out more and take on the
challenge of greening your business.
The
‘What
can I do – Individuals’ section of the website has also been
developed to provide advice and information to householders on
environmental issues. Why not communicate this to your
staff?
