Suffolk County Council's Environmental Action Plan 2009-2011

Our new Environment Action Plan details actions that we are committed to achieving over two years. The plan demonstrates our commitment to both local and international efforts in tackling climate change.

The county council has achieved many environmental improvements over the past few years including:

  • the opening of OrbisEnergy, a centre of excellence for renewable energy in Lowestoft
  • the setting up of the Green Suffolk Fund to help communities in Suffolk cut their carbon emissions and
  • the installing of 17 wood fuel boilers across the council

You can read the full action plan here.

Past plans

Suffolk County Council published the monitoring report of its first Environment Action Plan (2007-09) at the beginning of 2009. The monitoring report details the progress made against the objectives, actions and targets laid out in the plan with detailed progress reports. The report also includes case studies showcasing areas where the council has performed well against its key objectives and targets.

An Executive Summary has also been produced which highlights some of the council's key successes with case studies.
