Lavenham Railway Walk

Lavenham is celebrated for its half-timbered houses, a reminder of the town's medieval prosperity arising from the cloth trade.

Seed heads on the walkTry this easy 1.5 mile walk along the old railway line, and you'll see cowslips. They grow up on the chalk exposed when the railway was built in 1865.

The walk takes you past Lavenham Church, the ancient Lineage Wood and Lavenham Hall.

Declared as a Local Nature Reserve in 2003 this walk links up with the Valley Walk and Melford Walk to give a full day's walking in beautiful west Suffolk.
