Offering advice on the
management of woodland and, in partnership with others, promoting
the conservation and enhancement of Suffolk’s woodlands.
At Suffolk County Council, we provide information to
help people make the most of Suffolk’s woodlands.
We will prepare management plans for private woodland, provide
technical advice and administer grants. We also offer independent
liaison between woodland owners and contractors, find outlets for
woodland products, and we can organise suitable contractors to work
in private woodlands and supervise their work.
We raise awareness by preparing promotional material and by
organising technical and good practice events. We wish to see local
communities involved in the management of their own environment and
will provide advice and support for voluntary groups to develop
community woodland initiatives.
This includes:
- Anglian Woodland Project;
- facilitating sources of external funding;
- Forestry Commission;
- strengthening people’s enjoyment of woodlands; and
- the Greenlight Trust.
