Welcome to the Environment section of our website
Within this section, you will find information about Suffolk's
environment, including environmental policy, countryside services,
archaeology, waste and recycling as well as links to statistics
about the county.
The overall aims of Suffolk County Council's environment functions
are:
- to care for, conserve and enhance Suffolk's outstanding
environment and to provide for people's enjoyment of its heritage,
including use of the rights of way network
- to provide a safe and efficient municipal waste disposal
service through waste disposal contracts and maintaining well
located household waste sites, and to reduce, recycle and minimise
the amount of such waste going to landfill
- to control minerals, waste and County Council development and
advise on other proposals
- to develop environmental policies and promote environmental
management in the county.
