On 10 June 2010, the Government announced that a number of grants
to local authorities would no longer be 'protected' - this includes
the Youth Opportunity and Capital Fund. As a result, Suffolk County
Council has halted any expenditure from the Fund with immediate
effect.
This means that we are not able to implement decisions made on
applications, except where formal written commitments to funding
have been given. This is very disappointing for everyone –
particularly after all the hard work, time and effort
involved.
We will provide an update on the situation as soon as
possible.
