The Youth Support Service is one
of several services within the County Council that provides help,
support and guidance for young people as part of Children and Young
People's Services. In Suffolk the Youth Support Service has
replaced the Youth and Connexions Service.
This change recognises the fact that there are often times when
young people require support to cope with upsetting circumstances,
or to make positive changes in their lives. The Youth Support
Service will provide access to information, along with advice
and support for young people aged 11 - 19 who need help to manage
the transitions in their lives. This will be achieved by working
alongside schools and colleges and voluntary/community
organisations.

The Youth Support Service will encourage young people to
feel positive towards their learning by thinking about what they
want to do, and how they can achieve it. Youth Support Workers will
also be on hand to work with families and others in the local
community to provide the best opportunities for young people.
