This section details both general conditions delegates are
expected to meet, as well as conditions that apply specifically to
'Physical' Training.
General Training
Conditions for all courses
It is a condition of training that participants attend
all scheduled sessions and start and finish times are strictly
adhered to.
Unisafe covers a wide range of complex
issues in terms of theoretical and physical responses. In
order to ensure that each participant achieves the required level
of competence it is essential that they attend all of the sessions
for which they are nominated.
Unisafe Trainers will exclude at their own discretion any
participant who is considered to be undermining the safe learning
of themselves or others.
Unisafe is designed to give an optimal learning opportunity.
Being aggressive, macho, or “over enthusiastic” has no place in
constructive training neither does behaviour that detracts from the
course philosophy or is likely to interfere with others
learning.
Remember to treat other people with respect.
In order to be able to enjoy the programme (and most people do!) it
is important that whilst feeling free to challenge the ideas of
others, you remember to respect other participants rights and
feelings.
At no time will you be requested to share details of
personal experiences with the whole group.
Learning about aggression and violence often involves reflecting on
personal experience. You may be asked to share thoughts or
experiences within a small group or pair, you will be able to
choose how much you share and with whom.
Participants will not give any details, which would
identify another individual’s contribution to others outside the
programme without that person’s expressed consent.
This does not mean that you cannot take your learning from the
programme outside of the participant group, but it does mean that
you should not give details of who said what to other people who
were not part of your programme. It is important that everyone
present can have confidence in the confidentiality of their
learning experience.
If you have any other concerns about your situation please
discuss them with your line manager.
