Parent Partnership Helpline

Who is the helpline for?
The helpline is run by the Suffolk Parent Partnership Service, for parents and carers who have questions or concerns about their child’s education.

When is it available?
Please call at a time convenient to you. Calls will be answered immediately when staff are in the office. At other times, an answer phone service is available. Please leave your name, number and time of day you would like us to call you back. We aim to return calls within two working days.

What does the helpline offer?

  • A confidential listening service
  • An opportunity to talk through any concerns or worries
  • Help to explore possible options and consequences
  • Information about education
  • Information about assessment and support for pupils with special  educational needs
  • Information on the law and your rights and responsibilities as parents
  • Contact details of other sources of information and support, for example: staff from the area education offices, contacts for local and national voluntary and community organisations

Helpline staff:

  • Won’t say what parents and carers ‘should’ or ‘ought’ to do
  • Are not involved in individual pupil cases
  • Do not give specific information about individual schools or the provision they offer   
  • Do not share specific information about calls unless the safety of a child or young person is thought to be at risk
