Introduction to Share

Share is a family learning programme, developed by ContinYou, one of the UK’s leading community learning organisations.

Share is a great way for families with children from pre-school age to 13 to share time together and have fun. Share can be run in a variety of BlankLogosettings, including schools, children’s centres, community centres, libraries, museums and more.

Share aims to:
  • improve the educational achievement of children
  • motivate parents to take an active interest in their children's education
  • increase parents' understanding of the vital role they play in their children's learning
  • enable parents to gain accreditation for what they learn as they support their children's learning
  • develop effective management and organisation of parental involvement in schools/settings

Share does this through sessions with a trained facilitator. To support their children's learning parents and carers will work with their children using a range of Share materials. The materials are structured to complement the classroom teaching of Foundation Stage, KS1, KS2 and KS3 topics. The emphasis is on the shared learning experience rather than on specific tasks, such as spelling.
