How to complain or compliment

What can I do if something goes wrong?

Our aim is to make sure that your child gets the best education possible. If you have any complaints, comments or problems about any area of your child’s education, it is probably best to discuss it with the person concerned as soon as possible. If you prefer, you can write to them.

If the problem is about something that is wrong at school, you should speak or write to the member of staff or the headteacher about it. Most problems can be sorted out without taking any further action. However, if you are not happy with the outcome, ask the school for details of their policy on how to make a complaint. In most cases, the headteacher and governors are responsible for putting matters right.

If your complaint is not about a school matter but another service you have received from us, you should first try to sort it out with the member of staff or team concerned. If you do not want to do this, you can ask for a copy of our policy on how to make a complaint. You can get a leaflet from your local Area Office or from the county council called ‘Comment, Compliment, Complain’ which tells you about the procedure and standards we have set to put things right.

If you are happy with the service and the system we would be very pleased to hear from you. We would also like to hear your views about this booklet.

If you would like to complain or compliment us on the service you have received you can also contact our Customer Service Centre on 0845 606 6067 or go to www.csduk.com/csd/complaintsorcompliments
