Suffolk Admission Forum

Introduction

The Suffolk Admission Forum was set up in 2003 in accordance with the Education Act 2002. The main purpose of the Forum is to discuss the effectiveness of local admission arrangements, consider how to deal with difficult admission issues and advise admission authorities on ways in which their arrangements can be improved.

The Admission Forum has a key role to play in ensuring a fair admissions system that promotes social equity, does not disadvantage one child compared to another and which is straightforward and easy for parents to understand. It is required to publish advice on admission arrangements in the area and admissions authorities of all maintained schools must take notice of this advice.
