Children's centre services

What is a children’s centre?
Children’s centres offer a range of services for families with children from birth to five in Suffolk.

Come along for advice or simply to chat with other parents.

What services do children’s centres offer?
The services being offered will depend on the children’s centre, but are likely to include:

  • Free activities including messy play and baby fun
  • Child and family health services
  • Information for families
  • Childcare and early education
  • Adult education classes
  • Training and employment advice
  • Support for parents
  • Healthy cookery classes
  • Advice about using cloth nappies

How much will it cost?
Some services will be free, although there may be a small fee for cooking ingredients or materials. There will be charges for other services such as childcare for working parents.

How can I take part?
If you have a child under five you can simply drop into your local centre. Families are encouraged to register with their local centre.
