In December
2008, five new priorities were agreed that would guide
the work of Suffolk County Council, as we move
forward through the difficult and uncertain times ahead. They
are:
These priorities form the backbone of a new key corporate document,
called the Suffolk Story.
This document sets out and explains the council's priorities in
detail. It places them in the wider context of the community
strategy, and communicates precisely what is important to us, as we
help lead Suffolk through the recession, and as we face the
uncertainties of the Local Government Review.
It is essential that we remain focused on continuing to provide
strong community leadership and high quality, value-for-money
services at a price people can afford. This is all the more
important during the current recession, as more and more people
turn to us for help. The Suffolk Story will give us the clear focus
to do this.
