IMPORTANT: NEW REQUESTS - CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE'S SERVICES

Currently, Children and Young Peoples Services is experiencing an unusually high level of requests from customers for access to their records under the Data Protection Act 1998. This has caused a backlog which is being tackled by that service as a matter of urgency.

We are doing our best to deal with requests within the legal timeframe for data protection requests (40 calendar days) and will do all we can to ensure you receive the service you expect. However, many requests involve a substantial amount of personal information which is gathered together from a variety of sources within the Council. These records can often be quite complex and we want to take care to ensure that you receive all the information to which you are lawfully entitled.

If you have any concerns at any time about your requests, or any queries about this situation, then please do not hesitate to contact us: e-mail Information Management Services - information.management@suffolk.gov.uk or telephone 01473 264656 and ask to speak with the data protection officer.
