For several years the Audit Commission has published a range of
indicators - called Best Value Performance Indicators (BVPIs) -
against which local authorities are required to report end of year
performance.
BVPIs provide a rounded view of local authority performance
delivery and are designed to:
- Enable central Government to monitor progress over a period of
time
- Allow authorities to compare their performance against that of
their peers
- Provide residents with information about the performance of
their local authority
- Local authorities are also required to set future targets
against each indicator.
Our Corporate Plan provides statistical outturn data and
targets on how we did against all of the BVPIs for the previous
year. A summary of our current performance can be
