The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service

This annual award recognises and rewards outstanding achievements by groups in the community who -

  • regularly devote their time to helping others in the community;
  • improve the quality of life and opportunity for others;
  • provide an outstanding service

A group (two or more people) can be nominated if the majority of its members are volunteers and it has been operating in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands or Isle of Man, for a minimum of three years.

The Lord-Lieutenant is involved in the assessment of groups. The Awards are announced annually on 2 June (the anniversary of The Queen's Coronation).
