Key equality policies
Our Corporate Equality Plan (CEP) provides a framework that sets
out how we will promote our diversity and equality priorities. The
Plan specifies what we will be doing to ensure we are an employer
offering equality of opportunity to our employees and a provider of
accessible services for all our residents. In effect, this
Corporate Equality Plan is designed to ensure we act on the
commitments set out in our Equalities Policy. The CEP also builds
on, and complements, the commitments made in our Race, Disability
and Gender equality schemes (the latter from April 2007) alongside
our directorate equality action plans.

Race Equality Scheme
Our Race Equality Scheme
(RES) is our strategy and action plan which sets out how we intend
to fulfil our public duty, under the Race Relations (Amendment) Act
2000 to promote race equality. It is part of our Corporate Equality
Plan 2005 to 2008, but must also be a free-standing document in its
own right. Suffolk County Council has produced it's 2008
-2011 Race Equality Scheme which can be found here in draft format
along with a new action plan.
