Disability Equality Scheme 2006-09
We published our
Disability Equality Scheme in December 2006. This is in line
with the requirements for public bodies set out in the Disability
Discrimination (Amendment) Act 2005. We have a legal duty as of
December to prevent and eliminate discrimination against disabled
people, and to promote good practice and encourage disabled
people's involvement in public life. This new Disability Equality
Duty came into force on 4th December 2006.
