About the equality and diversity pages

Welcome to Suffolk County Council's equality and diversity pages.

These pages contain information about the council's equality and diversity policies, as well as information to help everyone to access council services.

Aspiring to Inclusion
Helping councils and other organisations to improve their inclusion.
Disability equality
Information about our Disability Equality Scheme and plans, and about how we involve disabled people in our work.
Diversity and equality
Developing policies to tackle inequality and exclusion, ensuring services are accessible and our recruitment and employment practices fair.
Equalities discussion forum (Suffolk Speaks)
The Suffolk Speaks partners have set up an online discussion forum to hear more about residents’ experiences of using public services. We want to know whether there are any differences in people’s experiences and whether they feel these differences are because of where they live, their age, their gender, their ethnicity or whether or not they are a disabled person.
Equality impact assessments
Equality Impact Assessments analyse policies, service functions and strategies, to identify what effect or likely effect will follow for different groups in the community.
Equality Standard for Local Government
The Equality Standard for Local Government is a long-term process and framework that will help the council to remove barriers which create disadvantage and discrimination.
Gender equality
Issues relating to diversity and gender, and our Gender Equality Scheme.
Holocaust Memorial 2008
Marking the national Holocaust Memorial in January 2008 with an event at Robert Cross Hall, The Corn Exchange, Ipswich.
