County councillors

You are represented by one of 75 county councillors - men and women who are elected every four years by the residents of Suffolk to represent them and make decisions on their behalf.

Each councillor represents an area called an electoral division. Large towns may be split into several divisions, in rural areas groups of parishes make up a single division. On average each county councillor represents around 7,000 people.

County councillors have an important role to reflect the views and needs of their local residents in the decisions made by the council. Each councillor also has a small amount of money called a "locality budget" which they can spend on local initiatives.

To make it easier to find information, we have grouped these electoral divisions into the district and borough council areas see below. Please click in the relevant area to see the divisional information.

The Register of Members' Interests is available for inspection by members of the public at: Reception, Endeavour House, 8 Russell Road, Ipswich, Suffolk between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm on weekdays (excluding bank holidays).
