Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service

Roles and responsibilities

The Fire and Rescue Service is a dynamic and responsive organisation. It is our intention to protect the public through the prevention of fire and dealing with incidents effectively and efficiently when they occur.

The Service provides a rescue capacity to deal with non-fire situations including rescue from road traffic accidents, other transport incidents, chemical spillages, etc.

In order to carry out these tasks satisfactorily, we need to engage with communities and our colleagues in other emergency services and to ensure effective contingency plans.

We seek to protect and serve our communities by providing the best possible service within the resources available.
