Consultations with children and young people

Background

The Suffolk Children’s Trust Partnership brings together all organisations working with children and young people, to improve outcomes for children and young people across the county.

Consultation is one way of improving outcomes, by involving children and young people in the planning, design and evaluation of services that impact upon their lives. As part of the work of The Children’s Trust Partnership, it has been agreed that the Children and Young People's Involvement Steering Group (CYPISG) will support and review all consultation work, and report back to The Children’s Trust Partnership on a regular basis.

Consultation process

The process outlined in the documents below has been developed so that the excellent consultation work taking place across the partnership is collated in a planned and co-ordinated way. It will ensure that children and young people are not over consulted, and prevent duplication by sharing the results of previous consultation activity.

Pre-consultation document: form 1 (Word, 79Kb)
Review and impact assessment document: form 2 (Word, 29Kb)

However, consultation is only one part of the process. It is also essential that children and young people are kept informed of the impact of consultations undertaken with them. Impact information will be published on Thesource website for young people, www.thesource.me.uk
