Suffolk County Council’s Chief Executive, Deborah Cadman, is
responsible for leading the work and future direction of the
council and its 24,000 plus employees.
Deborah has extensive public sector experience in Suffolk, with six
years in the top job at St Edmundsbury Borough Council and, more
recently, as chief executive at the East of England Development
Agency, where in 2010/11 she supported the creation of 8,800 jobs
and 2,800 new businesses in the east.
Her role is pivotal in shaping effective public services in
Suffolk, as a focal point for partners in the voluntary, health,
local government and police sectors, as well as other partners from
within and outside the county.
Key aims
- Leadership: working with county council staff, managers and
elected members to deliver the best possible service to Suffolk
people;
- Direction: setting the agenda and steering the council through
a time of significant change;
- Management: overseeing financial and performance management
across the council;
- Partnership: developing strong partnerships throughout Suffolk
to improve services within communities and provide efficient use of
taxpayers’ money.
