Miss W came into the library at the suggestion of her GP. She
had just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was very upset.
She lived on her own, had no close family or friends to turn to and
was very worried about her diet. She was shown how to use the
Diabetes UK website, borrowed several books on diabetes and diet,
and took details of the local support group.
When she came to return her books she was far more confident,
had read up about diabetes and had a list of questions that
she wanted to ask her GP.
