Fostering for us means you will receive the support, advice and
training you need to succeed.
All our foster carers receive:
- regular supervision and high quality support from a fostering
social worker
- access to 24-hour support and advice from our Out of Hours
team
- the backing of an experienced multi-agency team, who know your
area well
- regular foster placements
- training courses to develop your skills and gain qualifications
like NVQ's
- free membership of the Fostering Network and Suffolk Foster
Carers Association
- opportunities to meet up with other foster carers
- loan of equipment needed to care for a child, such as cots or
pushchairs, and specialist items
- support from the County's health and education services
- a weekly fostering allowance
- up to 21 days paid respite care each year for fostering
placements
- a competitive skills based fee paid scheme for experienced
carers.
