What is No Limits?
No Limits is a joint a joint partnership between Suffolk County
Council Children and Young People's Services and Health.
The database is a voluntary register of children and young
people with additional needs and disabilities. The Children
Act 1989 requires that every County Council should keep such a
register.
Why enrol your child on No Limits?
The database is used to produce numerical statistics. If
you register with the database, it gives a better picture of where
children and young people with additional needs live in Suffolk and
this helps organisations to plan services. The database
records are held on computer within Suffolk County Council. All the
information held on the database is confidential and no individual
is ever identified.
Everyone who registers with the database receives:
- A newsletter 'Unlimited' four times a year, which is packed
full of up-to-date information about services, events,
opportunities and support.
- A 'Service
Finder' of useful local and national organisations.
- Regular updates on what is happening in Suffolk and beyond
throughout the year.
Who can join?
People aged 0 -19 years old whose disability seriously affects
their daily lives can register. Generally you should consider
enrolling your child with the database if they have:
- a permanent disability;
- physical disability;
- learning disability;
- sensory or communication impairment;
- specific behaviour problems;
- any other disabling condition which needs treatment over a long
period of time.
How do I join?
You can register your child by completing
an
enrolment form; (PDF, 39Kb) only the information that you
provide on the form will be stored on the database.
Checking Information
Once enrolled you will receive a computer printout of the
details held on the database about your child.
All the information held on No Limits is checked with you every
year through the newsletter to ensure that it remains accurate and
up to date.
No Limits also has its own website where young people with
additional needs can find out how to access support, opportunities
and plan for their future.
