From 1^st April 2008 the Public Law Outline replaces previous guidance on the management of Care Proceedings

Volume 1 of the DCSF Children Act Guidance has been revised. It covers all Court Proceedings under the Children Act 1989, including:
Care and Supervision Orders (Chapter 3 pp 28 – 48)
Protection of Children (Chapter 4 pp 49 – 65)
Secure Accommodation Orders (pp 67 – 70.)
The Letter before Proceedings Template is at Annex 1(pp 71 – 3)

The Ministry of Justice Public Law Outline: Guide to Case Management in Public Law Proceedings includes the full Practice Direction, templates for Standard Forms, and Flowcharts covering Pre-Proceedings and Court Proceedings

New local guidance and procedures are being developed to support good practice
