Each unit has a large lounge/dining area, kitchen, single bedrooms, small quiet rooms and toilet facilities.  A large bathroom with bath and shower facilities can also be found on each unit.  Balmoral has en suite facilities.

A member of the Management Team oversees management of each unit and the well being of the Residents living on the unit and the allocated Staff – this also includes Residents Reviews and Staff Supervisions.  Each Resident is allocated a Key Worker who helps with producing a detailed Care Plan and who  takes special interest in the Resident to ensure individual needs are met.

Twenty four hour care (not nursing care) is provided by trained staff with support from the local Community Nurse Team and G.P.’s.  Other professionals such as Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dentists, Chiropodists and Opticians also can be accessed through the Home.

A range of activities, entertainment and outings are organised within the Home and in the community.

A Catering Team provides freshly cooked meals with a choice of menu and the Cooks will adapt dishes to meet individual needs.   Housekeeping Staff are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness.  A laundry service is also offered for personal clothing – bedding/towels are provided.

A Church service is held weekly and Holy Communion monthly for Residents who wish to attend.  The Dell respect and welcome diversity of cultures and enable Residents to maintain their beliefs and way of life.

A feedback procedure is in place and a form ‘Having Your Say’ is available in the Home should residents or families wish or have reason to make comments or complain.

Our philosophy of care is that we believe that every Resident living at The Dell has a fundamental right to maintain full citizenship and advocate for individuals rights and beliefs to ensure individuals feel that they can make a contribution to society.
