arranged on request, and at additional cost to an individual. The
emergency call bell system is accessible from every room.
There are five units, each with its own communal sitting room,
dining room and kitchen, and laundry facilities. Each unit has its
own bathroom with power-assisted bath chair.
The ground floor houses the units of Glencoe East and Glencoe
North each providing six bedrooms. Enhanced care is provided to
older people with special needs because of dementia require extra
care. This unit also features a "snoozelum" with sensory equipment
for relaxation and stimulation. An attractive conservatory provides
disabled access to a side garden.
The first floor houses the units of Windermere and Killarney
providing seven and six bedrooms respectively and offers care to
frail older people with physical and mental health problems.
The upper first floor houses the unit of Snowdonia, a five bedroom
unit with sitting room and kitchen diner. Additional facilities on
the first floor include a small library room, furnished to provide
comfort and privacy for residents who wish to entertain personal
visitors. A larger room facilitates a variety of activities
organised by the residential carer support team and is
used for staff training and meetings. A fully fitted
hairdressing salon is operated by visiting hairdressers offering
competitive prices.
A large walled garden laid to lawn with summerhouse, fountain
and pond provides a relaxing environment for all. The inner
courtyard houses a large bird table attracting wildlife for the
pleasure of residents. Plants within the courtyard have been
specifically chosen for their distinctive scents to enable
appreciation.
There is an extensive choice of menu for meals cooked in the
homes large kitchen. Specialist diets are catered that will
include medical needs and cultural preferences. Small snacks
are also prepared in the unit kitchens. The home also offers
a community meals service and home cooked meals are delivered
to customers by taxi service.
