Protecting Suffolk's residents from rogue traders, scams and
unfair selling techniques
Trading Standards officers respond to complaints and queries as
well as proactively targeting work to areas where the need is
greatest.
The areas Trading Standards cover in terms of fair trading
include:
- checks at jewellers;
- descriptions and promises;
- estate agents and property developers;
- holidays;
- homeworking scams;
- illegal doorstep traders.
- scams and misleading selling techniques;
- small print in contracts;
- the motor trade; and
- checks on underage sales including alcohol and
cigarettes.
