The purpose of the fund

The Corporate Regeneration Fund (CRF) provides a match funding pool of capital funds to support organisations throughout Suffolk and draw in a range of additional external grants. It will support both internal County Council services and community organisations enabling them to access other sources of funding (e.g. Lottery, EEDA, EU). Projects should provide benefit to the people of Suffolk through community, economic or environmental regeneration or a combination thereof.

Eligible projects

For applications to receive support from the fund, the project must contribute towards the County Council's medium-term priorities, outlined in A Better Way for Suffolk (PDF, 2.2Mb).

Additional Requirements

  • the application must clearly explain how the outcomes of the project relate to Suffolk County Council’s priorities;
  • applicants should consult with their local councillors and provide a brief paragraph about the outcome;
  • projects that are expected to be accommodated within Suffolk County Council service budgets are not eligible;
  • applicants must provide evidence that they have consulted and/or involved those benefiting from the project;
  • applicants should contribute to the total project costs; they must prove viability and are required to provide bank statements relating to the project;
  • projects must meet all legal requirements such as equal opportunities, health and safety and DDA;
  • projects must not have started prior to the application being submitted;
  • individuals and the private sector cannot apply.

Applicants are advised to access Grantnet which is a free service for possible match-funding.

Once applicants have sought advice from Grantnet, and have followed up the recommended funding sources, the External Funding Team will work with them to assist with the application form and in forwarding their project. For further information, please contact  john.mullen@suffolkcc.gov.uk

  • CRF can only provide one-off contributions towards project costs but not recurring costs;
  • the amount applied for should normally be between £5,000 and £30,000;
  • the awarded amount must be spent within a period of up to two years.
