Procurement

We are here to make sure Suffolk County Council obtains the best possible value for the money it spends on the wide range of goods and services it needs as part of it's everyday work.

This includes most things from apples to school meals to Zimmer walking frames.

We achieve this by providing a comprehensive service to our customers which includes energy management advice and an increasing amount of environmental information.

We also make sure that the legal requirements and responsibilities involved when spending taxpayers money and entering into contracts are followed.

Registered charities, public bodies and voluntary organisations based in Suffolk can also obtain the benefits  of our buying power by registering as a customer.

Do you need help in understanding the tender process?
Suffolk County Council is working in partnership with Young Suffolk and SAVO to offer free training.  Details can be found by clicking on this link.

Government has launched an on-line procurement course “Winning the Contract”.  This is a FREE resource to help businesses (and in particular SMEs) learn about public procurement and how to bid for public sector contracts.  The course can be accessed via the Business Link webpage at www.businesslink.gov.uk/procurement
