More than £8billion will be invested over the next 10 years around the East of England coastline in the offshore renewable energy sector. At the heart of this massive business opportunity, generating real jobs and multi-million pound contracts, will be OrbisEnergy. Much more than just a building, OrbisEnergy will help drive local regeneration, giving suppliers and investors direct access to a dedicated business network. The five floor building sits on Britain's most easterly location at Ness Point in Lowestoft, featuring adaptable state-of-the-art offices, conference and exhibition facilities, and high-tech communications links. It will be home to more than 30 small and medium sized companies involved in offshore renewable energy, as well as a centre of academic expertise, supporting new and existing businesses within a flourishing commercial and information network.

Key partners have turned the OrbisEnergy vision into a reality through this ambitious, iconic enterprise centre at Ness Point in Lowestoft.

Those partners include the East of England Development Agency (EEDA), GO-East, Waveney District Council, Suffolk County Council and Renewables East, Also supporting the build is the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR), POWER (Pushing Offshore Wind Energy Regions), and the CoVE at Lowestoft College. The project is being managed by Suffolk County Council.

OrbisEnergy represents a £9.4m total capital investment and will deliver flexible office, boardroom and conferencing facilities for more than 30 small and medium sized companies involved in this fast expanding energy industry sector. Its unique design, from the stunning glass atrium, to the informal meeting and social spaces, will make OrbisEnergy the perfect environment for generating ideas and for effective networking. OrbisEnergy is due to be completed and ready for occupation from September 2008 onwards.
