Suffolk County Council collects and processes a
multitude of varied data, which includes population data, housing
stock information and index of multiple deprivation. For

Suffolk Observatory
Suffolk County Council in
partnership with the district and borough councils and the SDA
collect and process key information regarding the county and
its economy by utilising a web based research tool. The
information collected includes:
- demographic;

deprivation;

economic;
-
labour market.
The Observatory
can be used to extract data at ward, district and county
levels. It can also provide area profiles and other useful
data.
Other Sources of data
The Office
of National Statistics (ONS) department provides the
government’s statistical and registration services. ONS also
provide
neighbourhood statistics where data for local areas can be
reviewed and compared.
The
East of
England Development Agency (EEDA) maintain a regional
observatory that contains information on the socio-economic and
environmental conditions of the East of England region.
The
Suffolk Chamber of
Commerce hold information on local companies that belong to its
membership. They also print and distribute the Suffolk business
directory.
