ceremony.

Who are these ceremonies for?
They are for any married couple of any age that have been
married for any length of time that wish to celebrate renewing
their marriage vows in a formal yet unique and personal
ceremony.
Perhaps you may be celebrating a special anniversary such as a
Silver or Ruby wedding anniversary. Or perhaps you have
married overseas and wish for a ceremony to make a formal start to
your local celebrations.
Equally it is especially appropriate for couples whose relationship
has been under strain - perhaps due to illness or other pressures
and they may wish to celebrate their renewed commitment to each
other.

Do these ceremonies have any legal status?
No, they are purely ceremonial.

Where can these ceremonies be held?
They can be held at any Local Authority Ceremony Room or any of
the 60 plus Approved Venues in Suffolk.
Subject to County approval it may be possible for these ceremonies
to be held at other locations. This would be totally at the
discretion of the Senior Registrar responsible for the area
and subject to a non-refundable inspection fee of £50.

What does the ceremony include?
The ceremony can be personalised according to your
requirements. There are opportunities to include readings, to
re-exchange wedding rings and a selection of personal vows of
commitment that you can make. There are also opportunities to
include your children and other special friends and
relatives.
A souvenir certificate is presented to the couple at the end of the
ceremony.

How long is the ceremony?
This will depend on the elements you wish to include. We suggest
you allow approximately 30 minutes.

How much will it cost?
Fees for the period 1 April 2009 - 31 March 2012
- Monday to Thursday £180
- Friday and Saturday £200
- Sunday and Bank Holiday £230
Fees for the period 1 April 2012 - 31 March 2014
- Monday to Saturday £210
- Sunday and applicable Bank Holiday £240
This fee includes an optional planning meeting with the celebrant
who will conduct the ceremony.
A £100 non-refundable deposit is payable when booking.
At the discretion of the Senior Registrar for the area it may
be possible to hold a Renewal of Vows ceremony outside of our
usual ceremony times ie: in the evening. In these
cases a supplement would apply to the above prices, An additional
50% for ceremonies Monday to Thursday, an additional 100% for
ceremonies Friday, Weekends and Bank holidays.

How can I arrange to book a ceremony?
For a ceremony at a Local Authority Ceremony Room -
contact the office to make the arrangements. For a ceremony
at an Approved Venue - contact the venue and also the local
Registration Office for that area.
