How do I obtain a Birth Certificate after adoption?
When an official Adoption Order is made that
entry on the
Adopted
Children's Register supercedes any previous birth record entry.
Therefore, you can only obtain a copy of your certificate from
Adopted Childrens Register directly, which is held at The General
Register Office, Southport.

How can I trace my natural parents or my adopted child?
There are several leaflets available from any
register office which provide information on access to original
birth records. The
Adoption Contact Register and Traceline is for people adopted
in England and Wales and their birth relatives. Charges apply
to their services.
